Hang on to your Easter Baskets!

What wild weather we've had today with rain and strong winds.   We have salt stained windows up to the second floor of our home.   High tide is a 10.5 at 7:24 pm.  The waves have been specatular.

Seattle Breast Cancer 3 Day

You may have noticed a new button on the upper right corner of Beach Drive Blog... I'm supporting the memories of two of my friends and co-workers who have passed away from breast cancer.   Michelle Brown was my dear friend and processor for almost six years...she passed last December and Tammy Swanberg was a fellow loan originator who passed a few years ago.   Both of their surviving husbands are walking in their honor and I'm doing what I can to support them.

In addition to the link to donate on the blog...I'll be sending out reminders prior to the big event.   You may recall that last year, the last leg of the 3 Day event was also along Beach Drive to Alki.   Many neighbors created "cheer stations" along the way by decorating their homes, providing water or snacks (like trick-or-treat bags of m&ms) or clapped and cheered on the many who marched on by.   And the participants are quite a site to see. 

It's great fun and a wonderful "feel good" moment to get involved.

Someone Needs More Coffee

Perhaps its me. I was just driving along Beach Drive to take the kids to their bus stop when someone in a dark truck passed me. I was going 30 mph (a.k.a. the speed limit). After this person passed me, they actually slowed down to 20 mph.  No one was behind or in front of us.  And I'm not interested in passing anyone on Beach Drive or entering into a game of road rage.  I just don't get it.

I think I'm going to pour myself another cup of coffee when I get back home.

Eats Market Cafe

I've been waiting  to check out this highly reviewed restaurant in the heart of Westwood Village...the place was packed and after a ten minute wait (we cruised neighboring shops) we were seated.  We decided to go for our favorite "brunch dish"...Heuvos Racheros.                          Eats Market Cafe did a nice job...their Heuvos is completely different than Blackbird Bistro's in West Seattle.   Easts Market Cafe rest the eggs onto of a generous helping of black beans and salsa verde.  The eggs are topped with home made guacamole.   

I will have to return to sink my teeth into a Rueben--my favorite sandwich and Iunderstand they may have the best in Seattle.  I'll report back when I do.
