To celebrate April as Earth Month, I thought it would be appropriate to feature the parks we have on Beach Drive on the blog.
Emma Schmitz Memorial Overlook is located at 4503 Beach Drive SW. On a sunny day (it doesn’t even have to be warm out) many people will gather to take in a few rays and enjoy the view of Puget Sound and the Olympics.
Emma Schmitz Memorial Overlook was donated in 1945 by Emma Schmitz "for park…and no other purpose whatsoever."
This park is also where we have noticed the fun earth art on a couple of occasions. Last summer, there would sometimes be a Bagpiper serenading the sunset (I hope he visits again soon) along the rocks at the park.
